Job Description

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Assistant Director oversees project management related to collaborative research initiatives and Center projects; assists with identification, solicits, and cultivates donors and donor prospects; writes solicitation proposals and assists in short and long-range strategic planning activities.

Major Duties

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Assistant Director oversees project management related to collaborative research initiatives and Center projects; assists with identification, solicits, and cultivates donors and donor prospects; writes solicitation proposals and assists in short and long-range strategic planning activities. The Assistant Director reports directly to the Director and supervises Center staff. Designs, performs, and/or oversees projects, programs, experiments and data collection to ensure data integrity, quality control, and protocol compliance. Writes reports and conducts continuous evaluation and assessment of Center projects and programs. Presents data to Advisory Committee and professional groups in formats such as annual reports, dashboards, and manuscripts to convey mutual understanding of the findings and results. Writes solicitation proposals, reports, and communication materials. Responds lo inquiries and investigates and resolves problems related to the business of the administrative and operational issues. Reviews status of administrative activities and foundations of the Center and advises the Director of such status; directs Center administrative matters including staff supervision. Monitors revenue and expenses for the Center to ensure expenditure controls and compliance with project funding. Qualifications

Ability to communicate clearly both written and orally. Ability to establish and maintain customer relationships. Supervisory experience. Proven success in fund raising and grant awards. Laboratory management; experimental design; demonstration cooking; group teaching.  Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD/RON) to oversee center projects needing RD oversight.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Working knowledge of general practices, program, and/or administrative specialty; must have the ability to interpret and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures; perform basic research and statistical analysis; analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistics; compile, write, and present reports related to program; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; work in a busy environment with frequent interruptions; and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, students, faculty, and external contacts.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

This position is employed through The University Corporation (TUC).

Work Schedule: M-F

The anticipated salary range $29-$35 per hour, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
