Donor Services Specialist (Medical Assistant)
In our world of Blood Banking we have a unique role for Medical Assistants. Beyond performing phlebotomies on perspective donors to acquire pure and potent blood and blood component there are also duties that include, but not be limited to, registration, determination of donor suitability, and recovery of a volunteer blood donor. We operate in our various Donor Centers around the Centeral San Joaquin Valley of California or on large and smaller sized Bloodmobiles as well as set up and tear down of what we call Field Drives (for example in a High School Gym). High school diploma or GED equivalent. Certification of completion from an MA, CNA, or EMT program, CPR certification and the ability to lift up to 45 lbs are required. Some computer skills are required as well as a clean DMV for driving the smaller Bloodmobile or passenger vans. The schedule varies and the ability to be flexible with work-life is essential. Bilingual a plus in any language but particularly in Spanish, Hmong, and Punjabi.
